About Us

RMC, our primary historian and researcher, a Ph.D. in History and Public History from Arizona State University with a Certificate in Historic Preservation.  Further training includes a certificate from the National Preservation Training Center (modern architecture and historic sites) and the National Park Service (National Historic Landmarks).  With 12 years of experience sitting on the Lafayette Historic Preservation Commission (8 years as Chair of the Commission)  he has gained invaluable perspective on the regional preservation scene.  He is a Board Member of the Historic Preservation Alliance of Lafayette and has successfully nominated properties to the National Register of Historic Places, conducted historic district surveys, and historic land-use surveys in addition to other types of historical research and publishing. He has written numerous articles for popular and academic journals and magazines and has published two books: one on the New Deal and one on Louisiana Foodways.  As an oral historian, he coordinated a far reaching project documenting the stories of offshore oil workers and has also gathered the stories of local merchants in Rayne, Louisiana.  His exhibit, Our Town: Erath, was sponsored by the Louisiana Endowment of the Humanities and is housed in the Acadian Cultural Center.

RMC is client oriented, easy to work with, and can help you shape your project and stay on budget.
